Monty Python’s Flying Circus was one of the more innovative TV shows in history. Like many innovating shows, it was created and aired in Britain, but they are now available in various boxed sets by the Monty Python comedy troupe. There was a total of 45 episodes in this series and they starred such big names like Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, John Cleese and Michael Palin, just to name a few. These British comedians put together such an amazing display of skits and humor that they have influenced many American TV shows and the people who created them. For instance, Matt Groening has expressed that the Monty Python comedy troupe is one of the major influences on his career. It was also a precursor to the format that Saturday Night Live adopted when it began more than three decades ago.
